Iowa Leather Weekend happens with the support and dedication of numerous volunteers. This event cannot exist without them. Each year we offer the opportunity to assist in a variety of ways. If you are interested in finding out more about the volunteer opportunities available and how volunteering could get you a free package to Iowa Leather Weekend, contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Mark Turnage.
Tyler McCormick experienced his first kinky relationship at age 19. At nearly 40, he has spent half his life remaining active in the leather, kink & fetish community. 19 + 20 = 39. Math is hard! In 2004, he was a founding member of the New Mexico Leather Wolves, and in 2009 was chosen as 1st runner up New Mexico Bootblack. The self-described “leather gimp” then went on to win Mr. Rio Grande Leather in Oct. 2009, and proceeded to become the man who either saved or smashed International Mr. Leather (depends who you ask) by being chosen as IML 2010. He has presented on bondage, fisting, bootblacking, Daddy/boy relationships, and judged several Leather contests, as well as International Mr. Bootblack. Most recently he became part of the IML Executive staff. Joyfully collared and living a poly life with his Daddy, Steve, since 2011, his answer to whether he’s into heavy play is yes, whatever side he’s experiencing.
Tyler sees his mission as helping others find and follow their passions. He believes this will improve people’s ability to explore their Leather, kinks and fetish desires resulting in a more positive life.
Raymond is a versatile switch who enjoys butt rubs, burritos, and DIY projects. He is proud to represent both the leather and bear communities as Great Lakes Bootblack 2017, Mr. North American Bear 2016, and contest producer of World Bear Weekend. During his 5 years in the Leather and bear communities, Ray can be seen at various events bootblacking, selling raffle tickets, and emceeing or performing in bearded drag as his alter ego, Karen Forecox. Ray has recently unlocked the achievement of teaching various bootblacking workshops. One class called “Shine to Scene”, suggests how to use items in your kit to spice up chair interactions. Another, called “Breaking the Ice: Interactions for the Introverted Bootblack” offers ways to begin and continue conversations while working on boots. While there are several groups Ray supports, he is proud to be an associate member of ONYX Great Lakes, a group he has admired for their hard work and dedication for the community.
Like a dusty leisure suit from the ‘70’s dug out from the depths of a drag closet where the queen’s like “Where the fuck did This come from?”; is Iowa Leather’s black sheep of the family, Mr IAL Greg Mace.
What many may consider a late bloomer he began his leather journey in 2000 while attending his first Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco. It was there he cut his leather teeth at the Loan Star where a crusty old drunken Leatherman belted out “I hate pretty boys, I hate boys that look like Charlie Brown!” it was then and there he was hooked, and his leather journey began. Having moved back to Iowa in 2006 it wasn’t until 3 years later, on a dark Valentine’s Day Night in 2009, when he ventured out late to the Legendary Blazing Saddle for a drink, the rest became history. Greg spent the next several years working on developing a sense of community, emphasizing fun and pushing education. But by the fall of 2012 Greg saw that the Iowa Leather titleholder family was solidly established, so he announced his retirement from social events. Apart from a few random appearances over the past several years, Greg has long since settled into living the quiet muggle lifestyle and is currently residing in a non-descript craftsman style home in Des Moines Union Park Neighborhood. Where curiously enough, the Mormon Mission Boys never seem to pay him a visit.
Broberg is a proud, openly Gay San Francisco Police Officer, internationally recognized Leather personality, competitive Gay Softball League player, highly sought after emcee and auctioneer, and friend and supporter to many segments of the LGBT and larger non-profit community.
Lenny was born in Chicago; moved at an early age to Salem, Wisconsin; attended Iowa State University; and then settled in San Francisco 30 years ago, where he held executive positions at Pacific Bell and the Portman Hotel. In 1995, he fulfilled a life-long dream of enrolling in the San Francisco Police Academy, quickly finding his calling with troubled youth and criminal street gangs. In 2002, he joined the Gang Task Force and in 2010 was promoted to Inspector. He is widely respected as an expert in African-American gang activities, often called upon for expert testimony and conflict resolution.
In 1991, Lenny pursued one of his extracurricular passions, playing softball and becoming a Commissioner of the SF Gay Softball League. He has participated in over 10 Gay Softball World Series and holds a solid reputation as a charismatic coach, star pitcher, and mentor to upcoming talent.
In 1992, another of Lenny’s interests came to the forefront as he competed and won the titles of Mr. SF Eagle Leather, Mr. SF Leather, and International Mr. Leather, all in the same year. He remains a prominent figure in the Leather Community, offering guidance to potential title-holders, judging and emceeing contests all over the world, and presenting a positive and intelligent image of the Leather Community.
Over the past 20 years, Lenny has been honored by mayors, the board of supervisors, and state legislators. For his tireless efforts in the non-profit world, he has received significant recognition from the AIDS Emergency, Shanti, Positive Resource Center, STOP AIDS, Pets Are Wonderful Support, Transgender SF, Imperial Court, Ducal Court, SF Gay Men’s Chorus, Pride Alliance (SF police officers’ LGBT organization), Golden Gate Guards Motorcycle Club, and Alameda County Leather Corps. He has been named Officer of the Month by the SF Police Department, Most Valuable Player by the Gay Softball League, and Man of the Year by the Pantheon of Leather.
More recently, Lenny has broadened his volunteer efforts, masterfully emceeing and auctioning for the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), Wild Aid, Friends of Alameda Animal Shelter, Rotary Club, and urban community service agencies. He has co-anchored the live television coverage of the SF Pride Parade for several years. Lenny is thrilled to be part of Iowa Leather Weekend.
Complex is a self described petty, black feminist and womanist. A product of their environment, Complex has been able to define what it means to be proud, black, kinky and leather on their own terms. A San Diego native, who enjoys dissecting racial relations all while riding a skateboard and boogie boarding. Crafting their ideas of blackness from rap videos and television. While not allowing themselves to be limited by what “black” is allowed to be, they love to straddle the gender divides. As International Ms. Leather 2017, their title year has been dedicated to making sure black girl magic can thrive in all forms, allowing both their tomboy and femme adjacent presentations to be shown fluidly. Besides collecting dirty panties, she loves to collect pretty boys and apparently pretty girls as well. You can catch them sunbathing and listening to Yacht Rock, or watching anime in Oakland, CA, or you can lowkey stalk their Instagram (Girl_Complex), Twitter (IMsL2017), and/or on Facebook (Girl Complex).
I am the proud handler of Pup Luck aka Girl Pup Complex.

Mr. Leather Ireland 2015 & 1st Runner-Up International Mr Leather 2015. Working in mental health for more than ten years, my every day focus is the instilling of resilience and improving well-being at both an individual and societal level. This is evident through both my profession and personal involvement with fundraisers, e.g. recording and releasing an album with proceeds going toward Rainbow Railroad in 2017.
While there's nothing I take pride in more than encouraging confidence in others, promoting our self-identities, and making new members feel like they fit in, over the last three years I have visited communities around the world at different kink events trying to increase the global ties that bind us- bringing us all closer together.
I am very much looking forward to joining you all for a very special 30th anniversary Iowa Leather Weekend- see you in October!

She is a radical sexual outlaw who disdains hierarchy who is best described as a contrarian leather anarchist. She is a body positive, polyamorous feminist. She is a fuzzy femme piglet who demands authentic and intimate relationships that involve degradation, objectification and pain, done with love and affection. If you fist her, bring her oreos.
